Control your subconscious

Have you happened to notice that extra-curricular skills are becoming rare day by day? So what do you think is the reason. To find the answer, let us go back in time. Let’s think from the perspective of a 14-year-old. Before the advent of technology like YouTube, reels, and mobile games children didn’t have sources of entertainment other than extra-curricular things like athletics, sports, and arts. Think about a life with no TV, or phones, you will obviously be bored most of the time and suddenly you hear about a sports day or arts day in school. Naturally, you will dream about the sparkling gold medals and you will start practicing for a sprint or a dance right. OK now let us come back to the present. Say a 14-year-old boy is bored. The question is “Can he ever be bored”. He could always watch reels, check his Instagram, play games or chat with anyone in the world. In the middle of all this, he heard about a sports day or arts day. The majority of their thought will be like “Wow a holiday, I can binge a Netflix series the whole day or finish a computer game”.

Nowadays we see parents giving their mobile phones to 3-4-year-old toddlers to watch reels. I keep gazing at the way how these small children amazingly change the reel by swiping down with their little fingers. Then I saw the harsh reality of where society is going. Soon most of the present extra-curricular activities will become rare and forgotten like stamp collection, arts, and remembering phone numbers. The good news is you can save yourselves from smartphone addiction by following the motto “It's ok to be bored”. You don’t need to take your phone and see some reels every time you have nothing to do or you are on the bus, train or even at home. A state of doing nothing can be great as Chandler said in an interview. When you have nothing to do please don’t reach out to your phone in your pocket. It has become a natural response. Instead, just think about anything. Let your mind wander off. It's good to talk to yourself. I can assure you that you will find yourself doing something you want to do like reading a book or finishing an online course. You may ask how I am so sure? Here it is Today I woke up early and didn’t have anything to do. Naturally, I tried to grab my phone. Suddenly I decided not to turn it on this time and I just lay on the bed and thought of something and you know what happened after that I ended up writing this article. I didn’t plan to write any time soon but don’t know what happened maybe my mind didn’t like to feel bored for a long time and my subconscious made me write even though I don’t like to write. That is exactly how you do something you feel lazy to do. Be bored for a long time your mind will adjust and do anything no matter how boring the work is. Your attitude should be "Something is better than nothing".
